Lee Alexander McQueen CBE (17 March 1969-11 February 2010) was a British fashion design and fashion designer best known for his deep knowledge of adapting English as their tendency to juxtapose the fragile strength of their collections and as the emotional power and raw energy of his provocative fashion. It is also known to have worked as chief designer for Givenchy from 1996 to 2001 and for having founded his own record label under the name of Alexander McQueen. His accomplishments earned him the fashion four British Designer of the Year awards (1996, 1997, 2001 and 2003), and the CFDA International Designer of the Year in 2003.
